Issue/Introduction

  • VMware NSX was deployed in the environment and the vCenter was connected to NSX as a Compute Manager (CM).
  • The NSX managers have now been deleted, but the CM was not disconnected prior to the deletion.
  • In vCenter, Administration, Extensions, the NSX plugin is still visible.
  • You may encounter error such as the following when you try to work with VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM) on clusters which where previously prepared for NSX:

A general system error occurred: Error occurred while checking whether NSX-T Data Center is enabled on this cluster.

Environment

Cause

The CM was not unregistered in NSX prior to deleting the NSX manager, which leaves the stale NSX extension in vCenter.

Resolution
