Issue/Introduction

This article provides the steps to view the installed ESXi license key details, such as the serial number, product name, and expiration date, directly from the ESXi Command Line Interface (CLI).

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

Resolution

To check the license information using the ESXi CLI:

1.  Connect to the target ESXi host using an SSH client.

2.  Once logged in, execute the following command:
    

    vim-cmd vimsvc/license --show
 

**Example Output:**
The command output will display details of the installed license(s).
