Issue/Introduction

By default, vCenter Server does not include a pre-defined alarm to send SNMP traps for user login events. This article provides steps to create a custom alarm that triggers an SNMP trap upon a successful Single Sign-On login.

Environment

vCenter Server 8.x

Resolution

To enable SNMP traps for user logins, ensure the SNMP receiver is configured on the vCenter Server, and then create a custom alarm definition.

  1. Verify SNMP Configuration Confirm that SNMP receiver settings are configured to allow trap transmission.
