• Unable to delete external network on vCD (Cloud Director)
• Error when trying to delete an external network.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1

Cause

In VMware Cloud Director, you can configure external network connections to a NSX edge gateway, allowing tenants to configure static route scopes, NAT rules, and firewall rules to apply to a specific external network connection.

This issue occurs as the external network still has a connection to an Edge gateway.

Resolution

To resolve this issue ensure that the connection from the edge gateway to the external network is removed prior to deletion of the external network.

The name of the Edge is stated within the error message displayed.
