VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

In a VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 environment where an Edge Cluster has been successfully deployed, administrators monitoring the environment via VCF Operations may observe the following anomalies:

  • Zero Count: The count of Edge Clusters appears as 0 in VCF Operations dashboards or overview widgets, despite the clusters being active.

  • Missing Object Type: The "Edge Cluster" Object Type is completely missing from the VCF Operations Inventory Management view.

  • Environment Context: The environment includes an NSX Advanced Load Balancer (AVI) integration. The AVI configuration and status are visible and correct within the NSX Manager UI, indicating the underlying connectivity is functional.

To validate this issue, review the logs for the NSX-T Adapter on the VCF Operations collector node.

Log File Path: /storage/vcops/log/adapters/NSXTAdapter/NSXTAdapter.log

Relevant Log Entries: The NSX-T Resource Collector thread logs a warning indicating it failed to enumerate any edge clusters during the collection cycle.
