Although locked, the Model Class for Aruba Access Points devices revert back from Wireless to Wireless LAN Controller after being manually changed when the SpectroSERVER is restarted.
DX NetOps Spectrum: 24.3.x up to 25.4.4
Aruba Access Point is not currently certified in Spectrum
Engineering has reviewed the Device Certification for Aruba Access Point System Object ID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.14823.1.2.107. While the Model Class was set to Wireless, the Model Type was ArubaOS, which also functions as a Wireless LAN Controller (WLC). Because the device uses the ArubaOS ModelTtype, Spectrum automatically sets the model class to Wireless LAN Controller during model creating upon discovery and after a SpectroSERVER restart, overriding the manual Wireless change in the Model Class. This confirms that the ArubaOS Model Type assignment in the Device Certification is driving the behavior you are seeing with Aruba Access Point 515.
Currently, Spectrum doesn't have a dedicated Model Type to differentiate the Aruba Access Point just like Cisco AironetIOS does for Cisco Access Points.
Device Certification Request needs to be submitted for Aruba Access Point devices. So kindly provide the following information to each Aruba Access Point model for Device Certification Request:
