Issue/Introduction

Super Metric named “VM Uptime %” shows '-' on Aria operations UI.

Environment

Aria operations 8.18x

Cause

This issue is likely caused by a Super Metric or SLA Definition that has been disabled in a policy. 

In Aria Operations, every metric (especially Super Metrics) must be explicitly enabled in the Active Policy applied to those VMs. If the tenant's VMs were moved to a different policy (or the policy was reset) the calculation will stop.

Resolution

Check the Active Policy:

• Login in to Aria operations UI, In the Object Browser, select the VM.
  
  
• Look at the "Active Policy" name in the Summary tab.

Verify the Metric in Policy:

• Go to Configurations > Policies definition

• Select the respective policy and Edit the policy

• Go to Metrics and Properties.

• Select object type as "virtual machine" 

• Filter by "Super Metric" (or the specific metric name, in this case it is VM Uptime %).

• Check the metric state: If it says "Inherited (Deactivated)" or is disabled, Activate it and save.
