Issue/Introduction

Unable to connect to yum.distro.carbonblack.io CarbonBlack repo for package downloads. The following message is received during any yum attempt.

Errors during downloading metadata for repository 'CarbonBlack':
  - Curl error (7): Couldn't connect to server for https://yum.distro.carbonblack.io/enterprise/stable/8/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml [Failed to connect to yum.distro.carbonblack.io port 443:
Error: Failed to download metadata for repo 'CarbonBlack': Cannot download repomd.xml: Cannot download repodata/repomd.xml: All mirrors were tried

Environment

  • Carbon Black EDR Server: All Versions

Cause

yum.distro.carbonblack.io is shutdown. 

Resolution

  1. When updating non-EDR related packages, the repo can be disabled. 
    1. Set enabled=0 within the /etc/yum.repos.d/CarbonBlack.repo file. 
    2. Clean the yum cache: 
      yum clean all
  2. Update the repository file: Authenticate to Packages Repository

Additional Information

  • The repository file is updated by the generate_cbserver_repo.sh script through the instructions.
