Issue/Introduction

We can observe a Memory and Handle Leak of the process lsass.exe due to job executions performed by agent windows java 24.4.2 and superior (not occurring with agent windows 24.4.1 or inferior).
We can observe that after 16000 executions the memory usage of the process lsass.exe went from 23MB to almost 100MB as seen below and handles went up to 80616:

Environment

Agent Windows 24.4.2 and superior

Cause

DE181778:

Due to program error the Agent Windows is causing Windows Handle leak in lsass.exe for every started Job on some Windows machines.

This can be observed using this tool:

handle.exe -a -p lsass.exe

The agent leaves open token handle for the user used in the Job.

Resolution

Workaround:

Restart the agent daily/weekly depending on how many executions per day are performed or use the agent 24.4.1 instead.

Solution:

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.

Fix version:
Component(s): Agent Windows

Automation.Engine 24.4.4 - Planned release March 2026
