Management Agent Lost due to malformed SNMPv3 Engine ID

Issue/Introduction

We recently updated Spectrum to version 25.4.3 and everything looks good for the most part.

But we noticed two devices where Spectrum shows "Management Agent Lost" alarms over and over again.

In the sniffer trace we can see Spectrum sending two SNMPv3 Engine IDs to the device. When the malformed SNMPv3 Engine ID is sent, the "Management Agent Lost" alarms is asserted.

Environment

DX NetOps Spectrum: Any version

Cause

When the device sends traps to Spectrum, the SNMPv3 Engine ID is malformed which is leading to this issue.

Resolution

After a reset of the SNMPv3 Engine on the device, it no longer sends these malformed SNMPv3 Engine ID in the traps.
