Service discovery is not working for a subset of virtual machines

Issue/Introduction

In Aria Operations under Operations > Applications > Manage SDMP Services, the Authentication Status for a subset of virtual machines shows as Failed. 

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

The virtual machine VMware Tools or virtual machine hardware versions are not at compatible levels required for Service Discovery to function correctly.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must ensure that the impacted virtual machines meet the following minimum version requirements:

1. VMware Tools: Upgrade to version 12.0 or higher.

2. Virtual machine hardware: Upgrade to version 9 or higher.
