HCX 9.0.x and 4.10.x/4.11.x Site Pairing compatibility

Issue/Introduction

HCX may allow Site Pairs to be created between HCX 4.10.x/4.11.x versions and HCX 9.0.x versions, but it is not recommended. There is no guardrail in the software to prohibit this configuration, but in some instances the Site Pair creation will fail due to "version incompatibility" if the HCX Connector Manager (on-premises) version is 9.0.x and the HCX Cloud Manager is a 4.10.x/4.11.x version.

Cause

HCX 4.10.x and 4.11.x versions do not support site pairing with HCX 9.0.x due to version incompatibility. The site pairing functionality requires both sites to run compatible HCX versions that can communicate and establish the necessary connections for Network Extension and VM migration operations.

Resolution

Upgrade HCX from 4.10.x/4.11.x to 9.0.x or a compatible version that supports site pairing with 9.0.x.
