Some customers may wish to automate or script the retrieval of a credential OTP code for testing or regularly automated processes.
This is considered a security concern and Broadcom does not support any process for performing the automated retrieval of an OTP code through a script.
The workaround, for testing or automating any logon process, is to instead generate a "multi-use temporary security code" which can be good for up to 30 days. This still requires a human manual input to generate the code and configure that code into any automated script. It also ensures that the process has an expiration date, requiring another manual human interaction to re-generate the code and modify the script at least every 30 days.
Customers can generate the temporary security code for either a user or a credential within the VIP Manager.
