Business Applications appearing across all Datacenters in Cost Drivers despite specific assignments

Issue/Introduction

When navigating to the Cost Drivers configuration page, users may notice that all configured Business Applications are visible regardless of which datacenter is selected in the drop-down menu.

Symptoms include:

• Business Applications specifically intended for one Datacenter appear in the list for all other Datacenters.

• Users are unable to "filter" or "hide" applications from the list based on the selected Datacenter.'

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

This is Expected Behavior. The "Datacenter" selection in the Cost Drivers UI acts as a context for cost calculation but does not act as a filter for the inventory list within the Applications sub-page. The application names are displayed globally across the inventory view.

Resolution

No technical resolution is required as the system is working as designed. To verify that costs are being allocated correctly:

1. Navigate to Operations > Configurations > Cost Drivers.

2. Select the specific Datacenter.

3. Verify the Monthly Expense column:

   • The Datacenter housing the application's VMs will show a populated cost value. (Refer Screenshot 1)

   • Datacenters that do not house the application's VMs will show $0.00. (Refer Screenshot 2)
