Jaspersoft 8.1 compactable with Java 17

Issue/Introduction

We are currently running Clarity 16.2.0 and Jaspersoft 8.1.1 which are using Java 11.  We are preparing to upgrade to newer versions, which will require moving to Java 17.  

Is Jaspersoft 8.1 compactible with Java 17 in Linux?

Resolution

Jaspersoft Server version 8.1.1 has limited or no native support for Java 17, Official support for Java 17 (in runtime mode) began with JasperReports Server 8.2.0 and later versions, specifically when deployed on Tomcat 9.x.
