Issue/Introduction

We want to avoid that invisible alarms in DX UIM are sent to DXO2 via the oi_connector.

Is there a way to filter out hidden alarms / invisble alarms from DX UIM to DXO2?

Environment

  • DX UIM 23.4.*
  • oi_connector 2.05
  • DX O2 any version

Cause

Enhancement.

Resolution

In DX UIM it is possible to set alarm "visibility" which actually translates into an attribute/field/column in the NAS_ALARMS table set to 1 (visible) or 0 (not visible) . This attribute is for being consumed in DX UIM internally as based on the field being true or false alarms can be shown or hidden from the DX UIM alarm consoles (IM alarm console or OC alarm console).

oi_connector forwards all alarms from DX UIM to DXO2 regardless of the "visible" value so the alarm is sent keeping the visible value, however, oi_connector is not capable to stop alarms with visible filed set to 0 from being synched from UIM to DXO2.

The ability of filtering out the invisible from UIM to DXO2 would require a probe code redesign (probe enhancement)
