VCF upgrade NSX edge failed with download_os failed.

Issue/Introduction

• VCF upgrade NSX Edge failed with error message in stage download_os below:

download OS task failed on edge TransportNode <Edge-TN-UUID>: clientType EDGE , target edge fabric node id <Edge-TN-UUID>, return status Polling download_os failed to complete in time .

• Retry again and then success.

Environment

VCF 5.2.x

NSX 4.2.3.x

Cause

Remote site with low bandwidth causing edge download new OS time out.
The Edge OS is around 4G,with time out period of 30 mins.

Resolution

Please make sure NSX Manager and Edge has enough bandwidth to transfer OS files.
