Issue/Introduction

This issue affects virtual machines provisioned for Omnissa Horizon environments.

For these VDI-related VMs, if the .vmdk file contains the parameter ddb.deletable = "false", snapshots cannot be removed.
Although the snapshot deletion task may appear successful in vCenter, the snapshot delta disk files (e.g., <VM_Name>-00000N.vmdk) are not deleted from the datastore.

Environment

VMware ESXi 8.x

Cause

The ddb.deletable option controls whether a virtual disk file can be deleted.
When this is set to False, virtual disk files such as snapshots cannot be deleted.

Resolution

This issue can occur with Omnissa Horizon operations, as seen in the examples below.
Since verification on the Horizon side may be required, please contact Omnissa Support for further assistance.
