Issue/Introduction

Storage DRS provides recommendations according to rules, datastore space, I/O load and so on.

Storage DRS allows user to customize automation level with different factors.

Resolution

To edit automation levels of each factor, please follow these steps.

1. Visit vSphere Client.
2. Select the datastore cluster at inventory.
3. Click "Configure" >> "Storage DRS" >> "Edit".
4. The automation level wizard will be presented. Select for every factor as required. 
   • Use cluster settings: Same as cluster setting above.
   • No Automation (Manual Mode): DRS will provide recommendations. The recommendation requires user to apply manually.
   • Fully Automated: DRS will apply the recommendation without user's action.

Additional Information

NOTE: The Storage DRS (SDRS) I/O Load Balancer, SDRS I/O Reservations-based load balancer, and vSphere Storage I/O Control Components will be removed in a future vSphere release. Existing vSphere 8 and vSphere 7 releases will continue to support this functionality.
