Easy Installer fails with "VMware Aria Automation deployment has failed" due to IP address conflict

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to install the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle using the Easy Installer, the deployment fails. The Easy Installer wizard displays the following error message, which is also recorded in the installer-YYYYMMDD-########.log file.

Environment

Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18

Cause

This issue occurs due to an IP address conflict. The IP address configured for the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle appliance is already in use by another device on the network.
The /var/log/vami/vami.log on the appliance contains the following error.
Error: IP already exists in the network

Resolution

To resolve this issue, identify and release the conflicting IP address or assign a new, unique IP address for the deployment.

  1. Resolve the IP address conflict in your network environment.
  2. Log in to the vSphere Client.
  3. Locate and delete (Power off and Delete from Disk) the failed VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle appliance.
  4. Restart the Easy Installer and retry the deployment with a valid, unique IP address.

Additional Information

Ensure that forward and reverse DNS lookups are correctly configured for the new IP address before retrying the installation.
