Issue/Introduction

• During NSX upgrade to version 4.2.3.2, Edge upgrade is failing with below error when downloading the Edge bundle from the NSX Manager repository:

• Connectivity test from the NSX Edge node to the NSX Manager on TCP port 8080 is successful
   
  

  nc -zv <NSX-Manager-IP> 8080
  
  connection successful

Environment

Cause

The issue occurs when DNS on NSX Edge is either misconfigured or unavailable while downloading the upgrade bundle. 

Resolution

Verify and Fix DNS

•  Resolve any DNS issues in the environment.
•  Ensure that both forward and reverse DNS lookups are properly configured on the DNS server.

 

Certificate Mismatch 

• Resolve any mismatched or expired certificates as per KB NSX Upgrade fails with "Prepare edge upgrade bundle failed on edge TransportNode"
