Login to https://<hcx_manager_ip>:443 fails with "Invalid username or password, or too many active sessions" when Web Service is stopped

Issue/Introduction

• Login fails with the following error despite entering the correct username and password:
  

  Invalid username or password, or too many active sessions

  

• When checking the status via https://<hcx_manager_ip>:9443, the "Web Service" is observed to be stopped.
  
  
  
• The following log entry is observed in the HCX Manager log file /common/logs/httpd/access.log at the time of the login attempt:
  

  <Client_IP> - - [##/###/####:##:##:## +0000] "POST /hybridity/api/sessions HTTP/1.1" 503 299 0

Environment

VMware HCX

Cause

This issue is caused by the "Web Service" not being running. The "Web Service" is required to be active for access via https://<hcx_manager_ip>:443.

Resolution

Please start the "Web Service" via the Appliance Management interface at https://<hcx_manager_ip>:9443.
