Getting blocks on Visual Studio files after upgrading to version 2026

Environment

• App Control Windows Agent: All Supported Versions
• App Control Rules: 1.30 and Lower

Resolution

1. Open the web console > Software Rules > Rapid Configs > Edit the Visual Studio one:
2. In the "Visual Studio Locations" > Add these 2 registry macros:

   <Reg:HKLM-SoftwareX64\Classes\CLSID\{A5901BD2-C49E-40F9-BC09-491A367B949A}\LocalServer32\>
   <Reg:HKLM-SoftwareX64\Classes\CLSID\{2F3DB58E-1745-4007-B24F-DEFE602A5E7A}\LocalServer32\>

Bug ticket CRE-23204 was created to update the Visual Studio Rapid Config in a future Rules release.
