Issue/Introduction

• During the deployment of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), the installation process fails at the stage "Add Service Account Users to Administrator Group in vCenter Server." 
  

  Failed to import existing v8 vCenter as new workload domain. It prompt Failed to Create Users in vCenter Server.

  Error Message: Failed to create user svc-xxxsddc-<[email protected] in FQDN_OF_vCenteter

  Remediation Message:

  Reference Token: xxxx

Environment

VCF 9.x

Cause

Missing the source vCenter Service account in the Source vCenter:

1. Log in to the workload domain vCenter Server Appliance through VMware vSphere Web Client.
2. Select Menu > Administration > Single Sign-On.
3. Click Users and Groups.
4. Click Users.
5. Select domain vSphere.local.

Resolution

Create the vCenter service account identified in the failed task output:

1. Log in to the Source vCenter Server Appliance through VMware vSphere Web Client.
2. Select Menu > Administration > Single Sign-On.
3. Click Users and Groups.
4. Click Users.
5. Select domain vSphere.local.
6. Click Add User.
7. In the Add User pop-up window, enter the values for the mandatory fields.
8. Enter <svc-xxxsddc-<FQDN_OF_vCenteter-xxx> as the Username and Password. Confirm the Password.
9. Click Add.
10. Wait for the task completion.
