A UI error is seen -
A problem occurred during restore. Services might not be working as expected
An error in the VAMI is seen -
RestoreManager encountered an exception. See logs for details https://vcenter_fqdn:5480/vami/backend/vc-support.cgi
Environment
VCF 9.0
Cause
An expired root password on the management domain vCenter can cause this issue on the restore of the workload domain vCenter
Resolution
Ensure that the root password on the management domain vCenter is not expired, prior to restoring the workload domain vCenter.
To do this -
- if the expired root password is known, use it to ssh to the vCenter and there will be a prompted to renew the expired password
