Issue/Introduction

When editing the purchase date for a Server Hardware Cost Driver in the UI, the updated data is saved successfully, but the purchase data is reset to the reference purchase date

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0

Cause

The issue is related to UI date handling, where an invalid or unexpected date object is processed during subsequent edits, resulting in a JavaScript getTime type error. This impacts the UI only and does not affect data persistence.

Resolution

You may resolve this by using either of the following workarounds, depending on your preference.

Workaround 1:

Export the Cost Driver configuration and import it back.

Workaround 2:

Edit the cost driver and select “Edit for specific datacenter” to update the purchase date on the specific datacenter
