What of the Applications Manager requirements for upgrading the Windows OS, such as Microsoft Windows Server 2016 to Microsoft Windows Server 2019 or 2022?
Applications Manager 9.5 and above.
Applications Manager does not have any requirements when upgrading the Windows OS version as long as Applications Manager supports the Operating System version.
For example, Applications Manager version 9.4.2 and below does not support Microsoft Windows Server 2022. If Applications Manager is on 9.4.2 (9.4.x has reached EOS) or below, it must be upgraded to 9.4.3 or above before upgrading the OS version.
Additional best practice is to stop the Applications Manager service and allow Jobs to finish running, if running on the local Agent. If a Job's process is running, the OS upgrade may restart the server resulting in the Job process being terminated.
Once Applications Manager has be restarted after the OS upgrade/server restart, the terminated processes' related Jobs may become stuck in Running status or end in DIED status.
