VMware vCenter Server VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

  • Unable to install VCF Operations 9.x due to expired License.
  • vCenter was upgraded from 8.0 to 9.0 and the default vCenter evaluation License is Expired
  • This happens if the vCenter is not Licensed within the 60 days evaluation period
  • Error "Host is disconnected or powered off" is seen in the installation wizard. This is due to the Hosts are disconnected from vCenter

Environment

  • vCenter 9.x
  • VCF 9.x
  • VVF 9.x

Cause

Default vCenter 9.0 evaluation License gets expired in 60 days. If the vCenter is not Licensed using VCF Operations within this 60 days, VCF Operations won't be able to proceed the installation and import vCenter.

Resolution

Obtain the VMware Cloud Foundation Operations 9.x OVA file from the Broadcom Support Portal and deploy the it directly to one of the ESXi Hosts and configure License.
