Issue/Introduction

A requirement has been identified to enable TLS 1.3 on VMware Aria Operations for Logs version 8.18.x.

The following queries can be raised:

• Whether it is possible to enable TLS 1.3 on Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.x
• The potential impact of enabling TLS 1.3.
• Whether enabling TLS 1.3 would remain compatible with other integrated products that are using TLS 1.2.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.x

Resolution

• Aria Operations for Logs versions 8.18.x are designed to support TLS 1.2 only
• TLS 1.3 is not supported in Aria Operations for Logs versions 8.18.x, and it cannot be enabled or configured in these releases.
• Support for TLS 1.3 is introduced by default starting with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF Operations)  9.0.
• Environments requiring TLS 1.3 compliance should plan an upgrade to a supported version VCF Operations 9.0 where TLS 1.3 is available.
