Issue/Introduction

The vIDM certificate replacement initiated from Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager failed with error LCMVIDM70031, resulting in the operation being blocked and preventing further certificate lifecycle activities.

UI and vmware_vrlcm.log reports the below message:

	Error Code: LCMVIDM70031
Message: vIDM Certificate Update is not successful. Blocking further executions.
  • Overall vIDM health status continued to report Green, despite certificate replacement failure
  • vIDM Inventory synchronization will result in failure pointing out to authentication failures for both admin and configadmin accounts

Environment

Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.18
VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7

Cause

The Inventory sync failures confirms that incorrect admin and configadmin credentials configured in Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager were the root cause of the vIDM certificate operation failures.

Resolution

  1. View passwords stored in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle (vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager) Locker KB 322699
  2. Update or Create Locker Alias in Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager with valid credentials for the vIDM admin and configadmin accounts.
  3. If the password is unknown and needs to reset the same, Kindly follow this KB 322712
