L7 based Application Access Fails Intermittently After Upgrading to 30.2.x

Issue/Introduction

After the upgrade, Layer 7 application access may intermittently fail across all VIPs, with the application appearing to hang on a blank page.

It was observed that when opening the application in a new window or duplicate tab, the page loads 2–3 times and then turns blank.

In the Virtual Service logs, the responses are recorded as HTTP 200 OK.

On the client side, during network inspection using the browser’s developer tools, errors such as ERR_INCOMPLETE_CHUNKED_ENCODING 200 or ERR_INCOMPLETE_CHUNKED_ENCODED are observed.

 

Steps to access the Developer Tool on Google Chrome:

Click the three dots located at the top-right corner of the browser’s address bar.

Navigate to More Tools and select Developer Tools.

Once the Developer Tools panel opens, select the Network tab, as shown below.

Cause

This issue occurs when Client Insights is enabled on the Virtual Services.

Client Insights is currently available as a Tech Preview feature and is not recommended for use in production environments

Resolution

Workaround:

Before upgrading to 30.2.x, disable Client Insights for all virtual services:


1.Edit the Virtual Service
2.Navigate to the Analytics tab
3.Select No Insights
