Test Recovery failed with 'A general system error occurred'

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Test recovery of a recovery plan containing vVol VMs failed with a PBM error during PreReconfigureCallback (vmodl.fault.SystemError).

Similar log entries can be found in the vmware-dr.log file.

Environment

Live Site Recovery 9.x

Cause

The failure occurred because the recovery site profile was missing the “Nimblestorage.Replication” rule.

Resolution

1) Go to vCenter > Policies and Profiles > VM Storage Policies > Replication > Custom and verify that VMware-managed replication is set to Yes.

2) Ensure that the same settings are configured on both the source and target sites.
