Guest customization option is not available in VMware Cloud Director Availability

Issue/Introduction

• When creating a replication, guest customization is not an available option.
• vSphere DR and migration is deployed so that a vSphere backed on-premise implementation is replicating to a vSphere backed provider environment.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.3.x
VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.4

Cause

The guest customization in VMware Cloud Director Availability is only available for destination sites that are backed by VMware Cloud Director (VCD). Thus, this option will not be available for vSphere DR and migration (i.e., vSphere to vSphere). Moreover, when replicating from a VCD backed cloud site to an on-premise vSphere environment, this option will not be provided, as well.

Resolution

This is the designed behavior for the product. For guest customization integration with a backing vSphere environment, please submit a feature request as detailed in the following article:
