Issue/Introduction

In Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager, the vIDM appliance cannot be shutdown when using the Power OFF function for the associated environment.  An error with LCMVSPHERECONFIG1000057 is thrown.  The Locker entry for the vCenter password does have the correct credentials.

Error Code: LCMVSPHERECONFIG1000057
Provided vCenter Credentials are not valid.  Retry after providing correct username and password
Failed to check the power state of the host <hostname-of-vIDM-VM>.  Retry after providing required details.  Optionally, graceful shut down can be skipped, by setting the skipGracefulShutDown to 'true' after shutting down the VM(s) directly from the vCenter.  (vim.fault.InvalidLogin) { faultCause = null, faultMessage = null }

Environment

SDDC Manager control for the environment

Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager

Cause

The SDDC Manager has a hung backup job for the vIDM VM and is preventing the ability for LCM to power it off.

Resolution

Kill the active backup job in SDDC for the vIDM VM, then confirm a new backup job will run successfully.  Once confirmed, initiate the power off action in LCM.
