Unable to edit compute values to change the CPU/Memory sizes for existing VM Sizing Policy

Issue/Introduction

• When editing a Sizing Policy in Cloud Director (VCD) it's only possible to edit the 'name' and 'description'.
• Unable to edit CPU or Memory configuration on sizing policy.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1

Cause

This is expected behavior.

The memory and CPU configuration in a sizing policy cannot be changed after the initial creation. It is unsupported to do so as documented here: Edit a VM Sizing Policy in VMware Cloud Director.

Resolution

If new sizing values are required then create a new sizing policy and add that to the Organization VDC.

1. Create a VM Sizing Policy in VMware Cloud Director.
2. Add a VM Sizing Policy to an Organization VDC in VMware Cloud Director.
