Issue/Introduction

  • On the the virtual data center dashboard, an Org VDC displays VMs and vApps even though there are no visible expired or non-expired items in the user interface.
  • VMware Cloud Director Availability is configured to use this VMware Cloud Director environment as a destination.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

There are existing VMware Cloud Director Availability RTVMs (replication tracking virtual machines) records associated with the org VDC, which are not visible in the VMware Cloud Director interface.

Resolution

If the replications no longer exist and the production workloads are no longer under management by VMware Cloud Director, remove the RTVM vApps manually, as detailed in the following articles:

Replication Tracking VMs are not deleted from VCD and vCenter when VM replications are deleted from VMware Cloud Director Availability

Error: "Could not compose a RT vApp for vApp replication..." when adding a VM replication to an existing vApp replication
