Browser pop-up requesting certificate selection observed when accessing NSX Manager UI.

Issue/Introduction

• When accessing an NSX Manager via a web browser, you see a browser pop-up requesting a certificate to be selected. 
  • The certificate present is not one issued to, or used by, NSX itself. 

• Hitting the OK button in the pop-up may result in the error "Internal server error has occurred." "Client certificate not found in trust store". 

 

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

This pop-up is not part of, or caused by, the NSX product and may be part of a 3rd-party proxy or network security product in use in the same environment as NSX. 

Resolution

Engage the 3rd party security product vendor for assistance regarding the browser pop-up and certificate selection behavior. 

Workaround

• Hitting cancel in the pop-up will take you to the expected NSX UI log-in page.
