ESXi hosts fail with purple diagnostic screen and message such as "PCI bus error, undiagnosed"

Issue/Introduction

• On ESXi hosts with active PCIe multi-segment enabled
• Hot-plug slots with active PCIe Downstream Port Containment (DPC)
• Any "PCIe Uncorrectable Error" reported by NVME drives plugged in the hot-plug slots
• It could result in failure of the host with a purple diagnostics screen.
  The error message is "PCI bus error, undiagnosed. This may be a hardware problem; please contact your hardware vendor."

Resolution

This issue is resolved in the VMware ESXi 8.0 Update 3e (Build 24674464)
