Issue/Introduction

While following the steps described in KB 393590 - VMware Aria Operations for Networks authentication through vIDM you receive the error as follows:

An error occurred during OAuth2 operation. Please contact your administrator to resolve the issue.

NOTE:  VCF Operations for Networks was formerly named Aria Operations for Networks (AON), and prior to that was named vRealize Network Insight (vRNI).

Cause

If the "Client ID" is missed  in the URL that is generated, this will be an expected result.  

 

Resolution

Follow the resolution steps in KB 393590 - VMware Aria Operations for Networks authentication through vIDM, making sure to first review the official documentation for configuring identity and access management at Configure VMware Identity Manager.
