WCC installation fails with "No installed components record in file"

Issue/Introduction

The installer fails when it cannot find or read the component registry in $AUTOSYS/globalVars. This commonly occurs when EEM or SSA (Shared Components) were installed independently of the main AutoSys installer.

Environment

AutoSys 24.1

WebUI 24.1

EmbeddedEntitlementsManager 12.7.x

Resolution

To bypass this error and allow the WCC installation to proceed on a host with a pre-existing EEM instance, you must manually create the global variables file that the installer expects.

  1. Navigate to the directory: /opt/CA/WorkloadAutomationAE/autosys/ (Create the directory path if it does not exist).

  2. Create/Edit the file: globalVars

  3. Insert the following content:

Note: Ensure IA_AE_INSTALLED_EEM=1 is set so the installer recognizes the existing EEM installation. If you have Shared Components (SSA) installed, ensure IA_AE_INSTALLED_SSA=1 is also set.
