Issue/Introduction

  • Configuring SSO accessing VCF Operations >> Fleet Management >> Identity & Access and selecting the VCF Instance returns below message
"The SSO management capability of this VCF instance is currently being initialized"

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x

Cause

This issue occurs when both the VCF adapter and the vCenter adapter are redundantly registered for the same vCenter instances.
In VCF deployments, the VCF adapter automatically discovers and manages the associated vCenter instances, so registering a separate vCenter adapter is unnecessary and may lead to configuration conflicts.

Resolution

Follow the below steps to remove the redundancy and initiate the SSO configuration.

  • From VCF Operations UI, navigate to Administration -> Integration -> Accounts
  • Delete vCenter Account mapped under the vCenter Adapter instance (Enabling option - Delete related objects).
  • Click on VMware Cloud Foundation adapter instance  and click on "Activate Management".
Note : This task will take around 15 minutes to complete.
  • Confirm the VCF adapter instance is mapped as "Current Instance" under 'Managed by VCF Operations".
  • Navigate to VCF Operations >> Fleet Management >> Identity & Access >> select the VCF Instance.
  • Initiate the SSO configuration
