I want to configure a Spectrum Condition Correlation to check the value of an event variable to make a decision.

Resolution

An Event Variable can be added to a Condition Correlation to check the value to make a decision by doing the following:

1. When creating the Condition;

    a. Click on the plus icon in the Parameters section

    b. Enter a name in the "Parameter Name" field

    c. Select "Var Bind" in the "Parameter Type" field

    d. Enter the event variable number in the "Parameter ID" field

    c. Click the OK button

 

2. Then, when creating Rule:

    a. Select the Condition in the "Symptom Condition(s)" field that you created in step 1 above

    b. Click on the "Show Advanced" button

    c. In the Parameter tab:

       i. Select the Condition and Parameter for the "Left Operand"

       ii. Select the Operator

       iii. Check the "By Value" check box and file in the Value and Type fields for the "Right Operand"

       iv. Click on the "Insert Criterion" button to add

    d. Click on the OK button
