Issue/Introduction

- ESXI hosts using custom baselines show as incompatible instead of compliant or non-compliant.

- ESXI remediation against the impacted hosts work without error.

- Recreating the baseline and reattaching it does not resolve the issue.

Environment

vCenter 8.x

Cause

In /var/log/vmware/vmware-updatemgr/vum-server/vvmware-vum-server.log, the following error is shown:

error vmware-vum-server[#####] [Originator@#### sub=HostUpdateDepotManager] [scanHost## ####] Inconsistent state for vib vib-xxx,
found multiple independent obsoleting vibs (vib-xxx, vib-xxx,
) that resolve the conflict for host: ESXIFQDN (entity: host-xxxxx).

Resolution

- Reset the VMware Update Manager database.
- Follow the document to reset the VUM DB : Reset VUM Database
- Confirm the ESXI hosts now show either compliant or non-compliant.
