Issue/Introduction

While configuring NSX on ESXI host the below alert appears:

“The number of objects defined in the system for Hypervisor Hosts has reached 94 which is above the minimum capacity threshold of 70.0%"

Recommended Action
Navigate to the capacity page in the NSX UI and review current usage versus threshold limits. If the current usage is expected, consider increasing the minimum threshold values. If the current usage is unexpected, review the network policies configured to decrease usage at or below the minimum threshold.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

This issue occurs if you are using a 'Medium' form factor NSX manager cluster which has 128 hosts set as limit.

Resolution

The alarm threshold is set to a default value of 70% and so the dashboard shows the alarm and is expected(90/128 hosts reaches > 70%).

You can opt to increase the alarm threshold if you are not planning to add more hosts. Otherwise, resize the NSX manager to a 'Large' Form Factor that supports 1250 hosts.
