Installing the Alert Central Connector for WatchTower when Alert Central is going End of Life

Issue/Introduction

We are currently undergoing a Watchtower Install & working through the Alert Central Connector part of that install. 

We saw recently that Alert Central will be going out of support in 2027 in the End of Life Announcement for Alert Central.

 

Does this mean we should not be installing Alert Central Connector for Watchtower?

Resolution

The Alert Central product is being integrated into Watch Tower via the Alert Insights functionality.   If planning to use the Alert Insights functionality, then the Alert Central Connector is required in order to send alerts via the API Mediation Layer to the WatchTower product.    For more information, as well a visual diagram of the WatchTower Architecture, please refer to the "WatchTower Architecture" area of the Installing section of the WatchTower Platform Suite manual.
