VMware Converter Standalone 9.x

Cause

VMware Converter Standalone has specific requirements regarding the physical architecture of source and destination drives. Currently, the tool does not support 4K native (4Kn) disk drives.

Resolution

Engage Hardware Vendor Support to perform a deep-dive into the RAID controller and disk layout settings and determine if the controller can be reconfigured to present the disks in 512e (Emulated) or 512n mode

Broadcom has no software-side fix for this hardware-level presentation, the resolution must occur at the storage controller level to ensure the datastore is compatible with the VMware Converter Standalone's specifications.
