Issue/Introduction

  • The ESXi host can lose network or connectivity to the storage.
  • Unrecoverable Errors are reported in /var/log/vmkernel.log:

Environment

Cause

The adapter notified the driver that it encountered an unrecoverable error. This could be due to a firmware or hardware issue.

Resolution

  • Make sure the driver and firmware are on the latest compatible as per the Compatibility Guide.
  • Engage the hardware vendor for more details.
