Issue/Introduction

One or more objects are failing to collect metrics. When viewing the object in Inventory Management, the status is displayed as In Maintenance (Manual).

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

This occurs when objects are manually placed into maintenance mode within the Aria Operations interface.

Note: This state is local to Aria Operations and does not reflect or impact the maintenance mode status of the host or VM within vSphere.

Resolution

  1. Log into Aria Operations.
  2. Navigate to Operations > Configurations > Inventory Management > Collection States > In Maintenance(Manual)*
  3. Select the object(s) you wish to remove from Maintenance Mode.
  4. Click the End Maintenance button.
