Issue/Introduction

 Introduction:

IBM AIX has production hardware that supports CPU virtualization, entitlement, and borrowing.

 Question:

Is there Platform Monitor support for a Virtual CPU configuration?

 Environment:

 CA APM 10.1
 AIX

 Answer:

Platform Monitor currently is NOT supported in the Processor Virtualization environment.

Platform Monitors (binaries) have not been certified on virtual CPU configurations.

Introscope measures only the logical CPU usage of the physical server, regardless of how these CPUs are allocated to the virtual environment.

Vmware
This KB is also applicable for VMWare.

Some customers are using VMWare and need to monitor CPU use inside each VM: For this we can use VMWare monitoring solution (https://docops.ca.com/infrastructure-management-digital-experience-insights-from-ca/ga/en/monitoring-technologies/on-premise-monitoring-technologies/vmware-monitoring
It's available in SAAS
