NSX-v Edge appliance upgrade fails

Issue/Introduction

• The below error message will be noticed :
  Failed to deploy NSX Edge appliance <edge appliance name> (a3a####5-a3a#-###d-92f#-###31f8####8)-0.[OVF Manager internal error.]

• Edge system event logs confirm the NSX Manager is attempting to query a stale or incorrect MoRef ID (Managed Object Reference ID) that does not exist in the current vCenter inventory.
• Navigate to Networking & Security → NSX Edges, select the edge, and open Summary → System Events.

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere

Cause

The NSX Manager database contains an outdated VM ID for the Edge appliance.

Resolution

This will require an NSX Database correction. Kindly engage Broadcom https://support.broadcom.com/
